  As part of CITR's effort to exploit ITR opportunities, the Center has sponsored conferences and other formal meetings of the ITR community. Fostering collaboration and remaining at the forefront of scientific computing is why CITR periodically provides funds for and participates in organizing meeting events.

2008 UT-ORNL-KBRIN Bioinformatics Summit

  The annual Bioinformatics Summit for 2008 was held March 28th - 30th at Lake Berkeley State Park in Cadiz, KY. The goal of the conference was to build up collaborative projects and activities in Bioinformatics between researchers on the campuses of the University of Tennessee, the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Vanderbilt, and other state and regional organizations engaged in this broad area of research. The conference was jointly sponsored by UT's Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics (CGB), the Kentucky Biomedical Research Infrastructure Network (KBRIN), UT's Center for Information Technology Research (CITR), UT's Molecular Resource Center and the UT/ORNL Science Alliance.
